Kein Berg in den Alpen fand in den letzten Jahren so viel Beachtung in der Öffentlichkeit und in den Medien wie jener Gebirgsstock, der das Berchtesgadener und Salzburger Land durch seine Präsenz charakterisiert.
Der Dalai Lama hat anlässlich seines Salzburgbesuches 1992 über den Berg gesagt, er sei das "Herzchakra Europas". Manche bezeichnen ihn bereits als das oder ein "Herzchakra der Erde ". Begriffe die aus der spirituellen Vorstellung der beseelten Natur und Erde verständlich werden und die in der westlichen Geomantie erklärbar geworden sind. Man spricht von einem Erdenergienetz, das auch den Untersberg überspannt und an markanten Orten - sogenannten Kraftorten - besondere Kräfte erfahrbar werden lassen.

Der Untersberg kennt viele Namen: Er wird von der Bevölkerung als „Wunderberg“, als „magischer Berg“, als “heiliger Berg” uvm. bezeichnet.
Den Name “Untersberg” wird am 28. Juni 1306 zum ersten Mal erwähnt. Seit geraumer Zeit hat der Untersberg auch die Bezeichnung ”Berg des Lichts”, welche sich auf seine Lichtphänomene und Sonnenphänome zurückführen lässt.

The myths of Untersberg

It is mysterious and legendary: The Untersberg – called "sleeping dragon" by the Dalai Lama. The myths tell about time portals, lost persons and wondrous mountain dwellers like dwarfs. According to a legend, these dwarfs digged out the more than 400 caves in the Untersberg. But this is only one of many speculations about the mountain.

It is rumored, that emperor Karl the Great (similar is claimed about Friedrich Barbarossa) sleeps in the mountain in a subterrainian throne room together with his truthful knights and dwarfs for more than a thousand years. He´ll awake to the last battle between Good an Evil, when his beard has grown around his marmor table 3 times and the ravens don´t fly around the mountain peaks anymore.

Many legends deal with disappearance. Once, a lost hunter is said to have suddenly appeared to his own mourning service one year after his disappearance. According to another myth, an entire wedding company including the band disappeared in the Untersberg for 100 years.

Perhaps the most mysterious story in recent times began on Aug. 14th of the year 1987: On this day, a couple from Munich, Hermann and Maria F., together with their friend Monika K. started for a mountain tour at Untersberg. After this day, the trio was missing without a trace, and was supposed to be dead. Three months later, in mid-november, the missing persons suddenly called from a telephone on a ship in the Red Sea."

The Celtic connection and the Untersberg
The greatest flourishing of the Celts, around the middle of the first millenium BC, is known as Hallstadt culture. While the mines and settlements of the Celts around Hallstatt are impressive, they do not really compare in size and scope with those of the Salzburg-Berchtesgaden area.

It is interesting that a number of early proto-Celtic settlements, coming at the transition from the Stone Age to the Metal Age, seem to be oriented toward the Untersberg. So there is a suggestion that the Untersberg may have had religious importance as far back as the Neolithic Age. Such sites include the Rainberg, Hellbrunn, and Zill.

The Celtic empire, around 500 BC, stretched as far as Ireland to Turkey, with its greatest strength concentrated roughly over what is now Austria. Could it be that Salzburg was the center of this concentration? What scholar can show evidence of an area with greater wealth and activity for
the Celts? The vast size of the Celtic empire, and the many diverse tribes that formed a rather loose confederation, must have been held together primarily though the travelings of Druidic priests, who brought a Runic alphabet and a sense of common language and identity throughout. So, if cultural identity was held together primarily through religious beliefs, a geographic center for those beliefs is only logical. The Untersberg could have been that center. We do not know, of course, but the Untersberg is a most logical place. It is certainly a fact that, within the entire European alps, there is no mountain that is associated with as many legends, and with more important legends, as the Untersberg.

I am from Austria and I am living near the Mystery Mountain Untersberg.
In the last 3 years I wrote two books about the time phenomens on the Untersberg and the stories about the black stones, hidden in a cave. Even Adolf Hitler was looking for the mystery of the mountain. I spent a lot of time in the forrest an on the rocks and I found many very interesting things. I needed more than 10 years to find the trutjh about the mountain.
The name of my books are: "Steine der Macht - Das Mysterium vom Untersberg" and the second "Steine der Macht - Band2 - Die Zeitkorridore im Untersberg" -
It means: "Stones of power - the mystery of the Untersberg" and the second "Stones of power - second part - the time caves in the Untersberg" I wrote the books under the name : Stan Wolf
On the homepage you can see a lot of pictures in the "Bildergallerie" - all about the story.
The most of the content of the books based on really things.
It seems, the books will be translated to English in 2-3 month. The first book in German language is already
available at amazon.com in USA.
